The voices of WSSA members matter when it comes to the future of anesthesiology in Washington State! WSSA is bringing members together in Olympia for a day of advocacy, education, and conversations with state legislators.
Throughout the day, we will meet with legislators representing the districts where our members live and work to discuss issues affecting anesthesiology and the patients we serve. We will also learn more about legislative priorities and bills that may impact anesthesiology in the upcoming legislative session.
What to Expect
The day will begin with a session led by the WSSA lobbyist focused on how to effectively communicate with legislators. You will learn what to expect during a legislative meeting, how to share your perspective, and how to make the most of your time with your elected representatives.
Following the morning session, members will participate in scheduled meetings with legislators and their staff. WSSA will coordinate meetings based on where members live and work, so you can advocate directly with the legislators representing your community. You can locate your representatives using the Washington State Legislature site.
No prior legislative advocacy experience is necessary. Whether this is your first time meeting with a legislator or you have participated in advocacy efforts before, we encourage you to join us.
